Inspiration from the Circa 1985 studio! We love collecting odds & ends and displaying them in vintage mason jars for visual inspiration! It’s a great way to organize the creative chaos! Take it to the next level by displaying your favorite necklaces draped around them!

Coral symbolizes sensitivity, love, awareness, intuition, compassion, and forgiveness. Because of it’s specific blend of yellow and red, it contains both attributes of protection and acuity, and heightens your awareness when dealing with people who are likely to be dishonest. Coral Reefs are actually made of hundreds of thousands of separate life forms that come together to create a whole. Therefore, the color Coral represents the creation of communities and global oneness.

It’s summertime and it seems like everything is in bloom right now- why not your accessories too? Last week, we styled our turquoise flower locket in a Fab Florals outfit and one of our readers wanted to know- what is the symbolism behind the different colored floral lockets? So read on and see which flower is for you!
Circa 1985 Flower Locket Charms:
White Flower Locket– Elegance, purity, peace, and sincerity.
Pink Sparkle Flower Locket– Joy celebration, prestige, and romance.
Turquoise flower locket– Loyalty, truth, tranquility, and clarity.
Circa 1985 ready-to-wear necklaces with flower charms:
Pink Crystal Flower and Turquoise Bead– Exuberance and romance balanced with peace and tranquility. Frog and Frosted Blue Flower– Good luck, go-with-the-flow, uplifting energy and tranquility. Key and White Flower Locket– Trust, openness, purity, peace, and sincerity.
These meanings are just a starting point. Everyone has their own interpretation of objects based on their individual experience. Do any of these charms have special meaning to you?

Bicycle Charm: For the avid cyclist, the joy rider, the car-less commuter, and anyone who just loves the air in their hair and the sound of spokes wildly spinning- the bicycle charm is a playful, cute addition to a necklace or bracelet!
“I think bicycles have done more to emancipate woman than any one thing in the world. I rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel. It gives her a feeling of self reliance and independence the moment she takes her seat; and away she goes!” ~Susan B. Anthony
Magic wand: Do you believe in magic? Are you a good witch, a bad witch, a fairy princess? The magic wand is the symbol of the will, the power, and the strength by which the magician maintains her influence and is used in rituals, healing and spell casting. As a charm, it adds a touch of whimsy and fun to any outfit!
“Style is a magic wand, and turns everything that it touches to gold.”~ Logan Pearsall Smith
Heart Padlock: A symbol of everlasting love, the love padlock can be traced to originating in Europe but appears in Asian cultures also. The story is that in pre-WWII Serbia, there was a schoolmistress named Nada from Vrnjačka Banja, who fell in love with a Serbian officer named Relja. After they committed to each other Relja went to war in Greece where he fell in love with another woman. As a consequence, Relja and Nada broke off their engagement. Nada never recovered from that devastating blow, and after some time she died due to heartbreak from her unfortunate love. Since then young girls from Vrnjačka Banja wanted to protect their own loves, they started writing down their names, together with the names of their loved ones, on padlocks and affixing them to the railings of the bridge where Nada and Relja used to meet. If you have someone in your life you can’t imagine living without, quick!, get a heart padlock and ensure they’re yours forever!
